AFCAT

The Indian Air Force conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) to select Class-1 Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). The examination is held twice a year, in February and in August/September. And millions of people take this exam in the hopes of joining the acknowledged Indian Air Force Academy and becoming an Indian Air Force Officer.

This exam is for both male and female applicants who want to join the Indian Air Force for a Short Service Commission in the Flying Branch and the Ground Branch for both Short Service Commission and Permanent Commission.

AFCAT Written Coaching

aThe AFCAT Exam is conducted under the authority of the Indian Airforce Selection Board. Through this vacancy, a candidate can join the different branches of the Indian Air force as an officer. One has an option to choose Flying Branch, Technical Branch and Ground Duty Branch etc. The Selection is not that easy, One will need to prepare well to clear the selection phase. Age Criteria

Flying Branch: the maximum lifespan is 20 to 24 years. The maximum age limit for candidates with a valid and current DGCA (India) Commercial Pilot License is 26 years.

Ground Duty: a maximum of 20 to 26 years.

AFCAT Selection Procedure

The Selection Process of the candidates in the Indian Air force for the officer’s entry is done in three phases:

  • Written Examination
  • AFSB Interview
  • Medical Examination

The AFSB (Air force Selection Board) Interview is the toughest phase of selection. Well, the Written Exam is also that easy. One will need to prepare better for this as well. To apply for this, There are some eligibility criteria that is a requirement to have to apply for the AFCAT Exam.

Eligibility Criteria for AFCAT:

  • For Flying branch: Degree from a recognized university With 60 % & 12th Passed with 60% marks in Each Physics & Maths
  • For Ground Duty Technical: Degree from a recognized university With 60 % marks
  • For Ground Duty Non-Technical: Degree from a government recognized University with Physics , Mathematics, chemistry, statistic, International Relation ,Defence studies, Psychology, computer science, IT, Management , Mass Communication etc. with a 50% marks in aggregate all papers put together in Post.

AFCAT Physical Fitness:

A candidate must be medically and physically fit in all manner. One may need to appear for the following physical activities:

  • Running: up to 4 Km. in 15 minutes
  • Skipping.
  • Push-ups & Sit-ups: Minimum 20 each.
  • Chin-ups: 08.
  • Rope Climbing: 3 to 4 metres.
  • Swimming (25 m) etc
